Our Story
Vegan Side Project started as a quiet shift in our kitchen. In 2022, my partner began eating vegan — and by 2024, she then made the full switch. But the journey wasn’t exactly smooth.
We tried a lot of vegan recipes. And honestly? Many of them were disappointing. Bland, strange textures, or just… off. But slowly, we started to find the gems — dishes that actually made us excited to cook. We learned to borrow tricks from one recipe to improve the next, and our dinners began to taste better and better.
It became a running joke: whenever a recipe really wowed us, we’d say, “This would go on the menu at our future lunch café.” That little fantasy — a place where we’d serve only our favorite vegan meals — sparked something real.
So in 2025, we created this website. It’s our digital lunch café — a collection of the recipes we love most, the ones that actually made us say: we’d eat this again.


Our Mission
Vegan Side Project started as exactly that — a side project. Both of us work full-time on our own businesses — I’m a videographer, and my partner runs her own health care platform. Cooking isn’t our job. But good food? It still matters.
When we began exploring vegan meals, it was out of curiosity — and necessity. Many recipes we tried were disappointing. But with time, and a little creativity, we began finding and tweaking dishes that actually tasted amazing. It became our personal challenge: how to eat plant-based without giving up flavor or spending hours in the kitchen.
We quickly realized we weren’t alone. Plenty of people want to eat more vegan meals — without the overwhelm. That’s what Vegan Side Project is here for: to share the handful of recipes that truly stood out, the ones we’d serve in our imaginary café.
No fuss, no food that “almost” tastes good — just simple, flavorful vegan meals worth making again.
